River stone consist of sizes between 2 inch to 4 inch. They are extensively used in landscaping applications and often used in lining river beds and in shore protection along lakes and rivers, especially where wildlife can be damaged from the sharp edges of crushed stone or the leaching of some elements in crushed bedrock stone.
River stone is also used in drainage ditches to divert water and stop erosion. River stone is naturally polished and specially selected for their superior size and color. Usually rounded or oval and ideal for all decorative applications.
River stone are highly sought after as a cheaper alternative to imported black and white bagged stone.
